We made our annual trip to Bosque in December. It was our 8th straight year of making the pilgrimage to this wonderful place. What attracts us? First the star attractions, the sandhill cranes and snow geese, perfectly match our desired characteristics for birds to photograph – they are big, slow and colorful. Second the other wildlife is attractive even if they are often challenging to find. And lastly in-between wildlife sightings the landscape is beautiful.
The birds were very active
and we saw the unusual suspects
While the photographers were out in mass
It didn’t seem to bother the wildlife
The star attraction were their usual photogenic selves:
We did get some nice sunrises and geese blastoffs
As well as color at sunset
We are already planning our trip for next year
